Dr. Yayanti Sonday is a graduate of the University of Florida's College of Veterinary medicine. Her passion for veterinary medicine and animals is evident from the minute she arrives on the farm.
She is knowledgeable, compassionate, gentle and caring. In addition to preventive medicine, she has a special interest in ophthalmology and wound healing. Although equine medicine is her favorite, she also really enjoys working on goats, sheep, llamas, alpacas, cows and an occasional dog or cat. Dr. Sonday is an adjunct professor at the University of Florida: teaching veterinary students in the Practice based Equine Clerckship. She was a relief veterinarian at local small animal clinics, worked emergency medicine and is certified in disaster response and animal rescue. Dr. Sonday has been married to her husband David since 2000 and they have five pets, Reba and Poppy the horses, Annabelle the Bengal cat, Chloe, a super spoiled beagle and Brigitta the rescued Florida brown dog. She enjoys horseback riding, camping, fishing, golfing and attending sporting events of all types.
